Hi Mary,
I do extensive work in latex, mostly using dragon dictate but also
gradually using naturally speaking more. I'd be happy to talk by
phone sometime next week to discuss strategies.
Briefly, a couple of keys are
1) using alternate written form which allows "\" as part of a word, so
for example the word "tex gamma" maps to "\gamma". This way you
can dictate a sequence of tex terms for an equation without
pausing and/or having to use macros/commands which are very slow
in NaturallySpeaking (compared to DD which is why I still mostly
use DD for tex and programming)
2) Working in emacs so you can bind keys arbitrarily and have some
voice macros map to arbitrarily complicated commands.
I'm happy to discuss briefly sometime next week in more detail though
I'm a little swamped currently so extended discussion might have to
wait a bit. Let me know if you want to talk.
